Travel Photographer of the Year 2020 has a huge range of entry categories on offer to reflect travel in all of its diverse forms. The overall winner is the entrant who submits the best eight pictures across the portfolio categories, which include ‘landscapes & earth elements’, ‘people of the world’, ‘nature, sealife, wildlife’ and ‘travel folio’. There are also three one-shot single image categories: ‘colour of life’, ‘islands’ and ‘solitude’, and a smart-shot category for images captured by phone or tablet. There’s also a young travel POTY 2020 category.

While much of the world is currently in some form of lockdown, TPOTY is keen to stress that images from photographers’ archives is allowed, that travel starts when you leave home and previous winning images have been taken from peoples’ kitchen windows.

Prizes include a Fujifilm X-T4 kit, Paramo clothing and exhibition prints. Details of more prizes will be announced later in the year.

Entry fees start from £8, but for May and June, entry fees are discounted by 50%. The closing date is 2 November.
