Tamron 18-300mm superzoom launches for Nikon Z and Canon RF

Tamron has confirmed the release of the 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD all-in-one zoom lens for Nikon Z and Canon RF APS-C mirrorless camera systems

The 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD lens was previously available only available for Sony E and Fujifilm X mounts, but will be rolled out for the additional systems in summer 2025.

With a 16.6x zoom ratio – the highest in its class – the Tamron 18-300mm offers a focal range equivalent of 27-450mm on Nikon Z and 28.8-480mm on Canon RF-S mounts.

At the wide end, the lens has a minimum focusing distance of 15cm, enabling a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2. The lens features Tamron’s VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor for fast and accurate autofocus performance, along with the brand’s VC (Vibration Compensation) system to help stabilise handheld shooting.

The Canon RF version will include additional physical controls for AF/MF switching and VC on/off functionality.
