
Sony World Photography Awards 2025 professional finalists announced
The Sony World Photography Awards 2025 has unveiled the finalists and shortlisted photographers in its prestigious Professional competition

Now in its 18th year, the Sony World Photography Awards (SWPA) continues to recognise exceptional photographic series, celebrating both artistic vision and technical expertise.
This year, a staggering 419,000 images from over 200 countries and territories were submitted, showcasing a remarkable breadth of global talent. The 10 category winners, chosen from the 30 finalists, will be revealed at a special gala in London on 16 April, where the coveted Photographer of the Year title will also be awarded.

The winner will receive a US$25,000 cash prize, Sony digital imaging equipment and the opportunity for a solo exhibition at the 2026 Awards.
For the first time, Professional category winners will also take part in an exclusive mentorship day with industry experts, gaining insights into expanding their professional opportunities. Additionally, the Japan Professional Award debuts this year, honouring outstanding work from Japanese photographers.
