Sony Alpha 1 II announced
Sony has introduced the Alpha 1 II, its latest flagship full-frame mirrorless camera aimed at professional photographers and videographers
Sony says the Alpha 1 II aims to deliver a combination of high resolution, speed and advanced AI features to cater for a wide range of professional needs, including sports, wildlife, portraiture, weddings and commercial photography.

- Full-frame Exmor RS 50.1-megapixel stacked CMOS sensor
- Continuous shooting up to 30fps with blackout-free operation
- AI subject recognition, including a new automatic detection mode
- Up to 8.5 stops of stabilisation
- 8K/30p and 4K/120p video
- Breathing compensation
Sony Alpha 1 II design and workflow improvements
Sony has made adjustments to the camera’s design based on user feedback, introducing a four-axis adjustable LCD screen, a redesigned grip and an additional custom button.
The camera, weighing approximately 743g, is compatible with Sony’s VG-C5 vertical grip for extended battery life and ergonomic support.
For connectivity, the Alpha 1 II includes 2.5G wired LAN support and can achieve high-speed 5G transmission when used with Sony’s portable data transmitter.
It also supports automatic file transfers to services like Adobe Lightroom and Google Drive via Sony’s cloud platform.
Additional accessories include a new dual-battery charger and a padded eyepiece cup.
