Rankin talk and record-breaking exhibition at LSPS

Photography enthusiasts are in for a visual feast in Leamington Spa this spring as the LSPS exhibition returns with a record-breaking showcase, alongside a headline talk from world-famous photographer Rankin

LSPS exhibition

Running from Saturday 26 April to Sunday 4 May at All Saints’ Parish Church, the Leamington Spa Photographic Society (LSPS) annual exhibition will feature over 240 striking images – the largest number in its history.

The display includes award-winning and commended entries from the club’s yearly competition, judged by Nat Coalson of Gallery Photiq.

Celebrating the club’s breadth of talent, the exhibition reflects the diverse interests of LSPS’s 100+ members, covering genres from street and landscape to macro and portraiture. It will be officially opened by Deputy Mayor Cllr Ruggy Singh, who will also present awards to this year’s winners.

Rankin talk

As part of the ongoing 170th anniversary celebrations of photographic pioneer Henry Peach Robinson’s studio opening in Leamington, LSPS is also hosting a special evening with Rankin – dubbed the “bad boy of celebrity photography” – on Tuesday 29 April at the Royal Spa Centre studio cinema.

Supported by Warwick District Council’s Spark Presents, Rankin will discuss his renowned career photographing icons like Bowie, Madonna and the late Queen, as well as his work with leading brands and charitable causes.
