Nikon introduces the Z 35mm f/1.2 S lens

Nikon has announced the launch of the Nikon Z 35mm f/1.2 S, a new addition to its S-Line lens range

Designed for both still photography and video production, the lens features a wide f/1.2 aperture, aimed at delivering strong low-light performance, subject isolation and pleasing bokeh.

The Nikon Z 35mm f/1.2 S includes advanced optics intended to enhance image clarity and sharpness. Nikon’s Meso Amorphous, ARNEO, and Nano Crystal coatings are incorporated to help minimise flare and ghosting.

With a multi-focusing system, the lens is designed to provide quick and precise autofocus, supported by dual stepping motors for smooth and quiet operation. Nikon tells us that focus breathing is suppressed, which is designed to appeal to filmmakers needing seamless focus shifts.

Constructed with weather-sealing, the lens is designed for use in various environments. It supports 82mm filters and includes customisable controls for flexible handling in different shooting orientations.

The Nikon Z 35mm f/1.2 S is scheduled for release on 27th February 2025, with a recommended retail price of £2,899 in the UK. Further details are available at Nikon’s website.
