New Rode Wireless Micro for smartphones
Rode has launched the Wireless Micro, a compact wireless microphone system designed for smartphone users
The product is aimed at simplifying audio recording for content creators, offering a lightweight and portable solution with professional audio capabilities.
Building on the Rode Wireless Go system, the Wireless Micro introduces features tailored to mobile workflows. It includes two transmitters and a receiver that connects directly to USB-C or Lightning-equipped smartphones, eliminating the need for additional cables.
Features and specifications
The Wireless Micro is designed to be portable. It features two compact transmitters with integrated clips and magnetic mounts, allowing for discreet on-camera placement.
The built-in microphones use a patent-pending acoustic chamber that aims to minimise wind noise and ensure clear, intelligible audio.
The system also includes GainAssist technology, which automatically adjusts audio levels in real time, removing the need for manual controls or extensive post-editing.
Rode tells us battery life is another key focus, saying that the system’s pocket-sized charging case provides two additional recharges for up to 21 hours of use.
Available in black or white, the Wireless Micro also includes furry windshields for additional audio clarity and integrates with Rodes free Capture app for video recording.
Price and availability
The Wireless Micro is available in black and white from authorised retailers and is priced at £134. Visit the website for more information.
