Hobolite has unveiled its latest product, the Hobolite Iris, an attractive new continuous LED light

The Iris is a small, portable, continuous LED light designed for photographers and content creators. The light enjoys a range of accessories available as standard and as optional extras, including optical modifiers, aperture ring and coloured gel filters.

Design and features

The Iris’ good looks are inspired by vintage cameras, with a weather-resistant IP54-rated aluminium body and vegan leatherette detailing – so it’s good for both indoor and outdoor use.

The bi-colour portable light boasts a colour range from 2700K to 6500K, with high CRI and TLCI ratings of 96+ promising true-to-life colour rendering.

Standout features of the Iris are its optical modifiers and aperture ring accessory used with a magnetic accessory system for complete convenience. These tools allow photographers to adjust the light from a focused beam to a wide glow.

The adjustable lens, included as standard, offers a range from 20 degrees to 45 degrees and a sixfold brightness boost for increased illumination.

The Iris also uses a built-in battery, which Hobolite says provides extended duration.

Options, availability and pricing

The Hobolite Iris will be available in two kits, one standard and one that includes the aperture ring, gel filters and other accessories. Here’s a breakdown:

  • Iris Standard Kit: Priced at £99.60, it includes the Iris light, adjustable lens, frosted dome, USB cable, V-Mount plate and a protective pouch.
  • Iris Creator Kit: Priced at £199.20, it includes everything in the standard kit plus an aperture ring, gel filters, magic lens, Fresnel lens f/28mm, adjustable lens and frosted dome.

The Hobolite Iris will be available from 24 May 2024 from authorised retailers, visit the Hobolite website for more information.
