Fine art prints sale to support Bees

British photographer Andrew Newey sells some of his celebrated work to support World Wildlife Fund on National Bee Day

Andrew Newey, an internationally-acclaimed photographer and adventurer from Dorset, England, has a new collaboration with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in support of World Bee Day on May 20.

He is launching a limited-edition fine art print sale comprised of some of the most popular photos from his world-renowned “Honey Hunters of Nepal” photo collection.  He will donate 100% of the profits to WWF to support the increasingly vital work that they do to raise awareness about how people depend on bees for survival.

Pollination is a fundamental process for the survival of our ecosystems, and bees and other pollinators are under threat from human activities. According to the United Nations, pollinators contribute directly to food security, and they are key to conserving biodiversity – nearly 90% of the world’s wild flowering plant species depend entirely, or in part, on animal pollination, along with more than 75% of the world’s food crops and 35% of global agricultural land.

The sale will start on May 20 and run for three weeks.  May is also National Photography Month – an annual event celebrating art, history and the love for photography, inspiring both professionals and amateurs to share their creations and highlight the power of imagery.

As one of Newey’s most acclaimed projects, this art compilation features the ancient tradition of honey hunting among the Gurung people in the Himalayan foothills, as they risk their lives to harvest honey from the world’s largest honeybee. This captivating and award-winning series has been extensively featured and praised for its immersive storytelling and stunning visuals, bringing global attention to this endangered practice.

Newey has won major international awards including Travel Photographer of the Year, Food Photographer of the Year, International Photography Awards (IPA) and Sienna International Photography Awards (SIPA).
