Fashion Forward exhibition coming to Leica Gallery London

The exhibition will present a selection of 20 works from two private collections spanning the 1940s to the 1990s of works. Showcased images appeared in Vogue, Tatler and Harper’s Bazaar, among others.

The exhibition will include works by photographers such as Irving Penn, Richard Avedon, Helmut Newton, Horst P. Horst, Norman Parkinson, William Klein, Cecil Beaton and Arthur Elgort.

The images highlight fashion from various decades, including designs from Balenciaga. The exhibition will also focus on traditional photographic techniques, showcasing the differences between analogue and digital photography.

One example is Horst P. Horst’s Advertisement for Jerbe Stockings, Paris 1985, which utilises the dye-transfer process known for its rich and saturated colours.
