This year’s Camera Club of the Year competition saw five camera clubs battle it out in a photo shoot out
The Camera Club of the Year final began with a brief and touch and try on a range of Fujifilm cameras in preparation for the day shooting ahead, and all members were treated to a three-course meal at the stunning Staverton Hotel in Daventry.
The competition was then held at the Natural Spaces studio in Northamptonshire, where the clubs were given five different shooting scenarios and an hour to shoot, edit and submit one image each. All camera club members were given a selection of Fujifilm cameras and lenses to use for each scenario.
From an aerialist to a steam punk model, macro shooting in a beautiful bookshop to finding intricate details in urban surroundings and finally shooting with a model and car set up, the clubs had an intensive day of shooting.
Our judges were Andreas Georghiades of Fujifilm UK, Tris Dawson of Natural Light Spaces, and from Photography News, Adam Duckworth and Kingsley Singleton.
At the end of a long and exciting day, New City Photographic Society emerged victors so our huge congratulations go to them, and well done to all our finalists for their sterling efforts too.
New City Photographic’s prize includes six talks by Fujifilm X-photographers of their choosing over the coming season so all club members can reap the benefits of their win, plus a day’s shoot at Natural Light Spaces. Well done again to them, and thanks to all our finalists.
