Portrait Photography Course
The course begins with an introduction to portrait photography, exploring its history, sub-genres, equipment and basic camera settings. From there you will learn about composition and lighting techniques, along with how to pose models, an intro to post processing and advice on kickstarting your career.
There are 10 lessons in total, each one concluding with an exercise that aims to help you put everything you’ve learned into practice.
By the time you’ve completed this course you’ll possess comprehensive knowledge of portrait photography and be ready to begin your journey as a portraiture specialist.
This course has been designed for people with some experience in photography. While we do offer brief explanations of topics, there is a certain assumed level of knowledge.
It’s perfect if you:
- are an existing photographer looking to find a specialism
- are experienced in a different genre and want to expand your skillset
- have completed our Photography Theory Course and want to delve deeper into portraiture
- simply love portrait photography and want to understand it better
While there is no strict schedule, we would recommend allowing one week for each lesson in this course to give you enough time to complete each practical exercise. There are 11 lessons, so 11 weeks in total.
Simply click Subscribe on this page or any of the individual lesson pages and we’ll send a new lesson direct to your email inbox each week, ensuring you never miss a thing.
