Vanguard updates binocular tripod adaptor

Posted on Jul 23, 2024

Vanguard has introduced the VEO BA-185 ARCA, a lightweight Arca-compatible update to the VEO BA-185 binocular tripod adaptor

The VEO BA-185 ARCA adaptor has been designed for night-time observations or birdwatching from a hide, offering several practical features for users.

The VEO BA-185 ARCA’s foot, fits directly into nearly any Arca-compatible tripod head clamp, removing the need for a quick-release plate. Vanguard tells us this design ensures a secure grip and consistent alignment with the tripod head.

For users without an Arca-compatible head, the VEO BA-185 ARCA includes a 1/4” thread hole and a slot for a non-twist spring pin, though compatibility depends on the specific quick-release plate.

The VEO BA-185 ARCA is made from high-quality aluminium using CNC technology to remove excess material. This makes the adaptor lightweight at 73 grams – almost 20% lighter than its predecessor, the VEO BA-185.

The adaptor connects to binoculars via a 1/4″ thread, and Vanguard says its slim bridge is designed to accommodate most models.

An oversized locking knob allows for easy adjustment in cold or wet conditions, even when wearing gloves. This knob can also be pulled out to secure larger binoculars with protruding objective lenses.

The VEO BA-185 ARCA is now available to buy at a retail price of £24.99. Visit the Vanguard website for more information.
